SEALS 2018 wrap-up

The Australian Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation would like to thank the SEALS 2018 organising committee for their efforts. The SEALS organising Committee consisted of Region 5 members who demonstrated good leadership throughout SEALS and its organisation.

  • Michelle McMillan JKN – Chairperson
  • PJ Steyer SBN
  • Leonie Broman SBN
  • Master Derek Robertson
  • Victor Griss JKN
  • Chris McMillan KSN – Treasurer
  • Stephen McMillan KSN
  • David Thorpe JKN
  • Mathew May

The result has been a very successful and well run event that was a pleasure to attend. There were a few bumps along the way that were handled well by the Committee and a few lessons learnt from the experience.

Those members who attended had many fabulous training opportunities with instructors they would not normally train with and were provided opportunities for some downtime to socialise with each other and connect outside the dojang. We look forward to future events hosted in Region 5.

We would also like to thank the Australian TAC (Mark Koina Sa Bom Nim and Kim Wyles Sa Bom Nim) for their work in preparing the class schedule and the instruction provided. As always it was a pleasure to train with Kwan Jang Nim and Daymon Kenyon Sa Bom Nim, and we hope to see them back in Australia again soon.

Soo Bahk!

SEALS 2018 – Melbourne, Australia

SEALS-promo-tiles-03The next South East Asia Leadership Seminar (SEALS) will be hosted in Melbourne, Australia from 11th – 14th October 2018.

SEALS is an official Moo Duk Kwan event which has a great tradition of bringing international Moo Duk Kwan members together, strengthening our connection and identity, developing the leader within us and experiencing our philosophy in action.

We extend an invitation to dojangs and members worldwide to train in Melbourne with the Grandmaster HC Hwang. We have many Ko Dan Ja members already registered, adding their instruction and experience to this wonderful event.

Held during Melbourne’s mild Spring, this event allows you the chance to connect or renew friendships with international practitioners from around the world and experience some of the unique cultural experiences Melbourne has to offer.

For information about the seminar, please visit the Victoria Region 5 Soo Bahk Do facebook page or contact us with enquiries at

Please forward this information on to your own students and other Moo Duk Kwan members worldwide.

We look forward to see you in Melbourne and training hard with you!

Yours in the Moo Duk Kwan
