2021 New Year greeting from the Australian Federation Chair

2021 New Year greeting from the Australian Federation Chair

To all Australian Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation members,

We have been through an interesting year that has led to huge changes in our daily lives. New opportunities arose that enabled us to connect in these difficult times, through Zoom. Strengthening our connections nationally for the benefit of all members. Some members embraced these opportunities and should feel proud of their efforts. These opportunities were facilitated by the “COVID-19 Response Team” who spent hours determining how to navigate the current health crisis. The COVID-19 Response Team were supported by instructors across the country who provided regular online classes to all members.

Opportunities arose to train with international members via Zoom, forging stronger connections across the globe. Those who embraced these opportunities received instruction from senior members worldwide; opportunities seldom available in Australia let alone in our own homes.

World Moo Duk Kwan hosted the 75th Anniversary celebrations with a range of virtual seminars that saw attendance from across Australia and globally. This was another great opportunity to strengthen connections and to train with some incredible instructors from around the world.

As a result of COVID-19 all Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa were cancelled in 2020. The Australian TAC are currently preparing candidates for 2021 events and hope to see Australia well represented.

Please take a look at the 2021 dates for events due to be held in your Do Jang, Region and across Australia and be part of sharing and growing the Art. Communicate and connect with others on all levels and make 2021 a wonderful Moo Duk Kwan year. Train hard and look after your fellow members.

Yours in the Moo Duk Kwan,

Derek Koina
Chair
